There are two categories of premium SMS services:
Services charged when sending an SMS (MO)
The subscriber is charged for each SMS sent to a 4-digit short code. Services which belong to this category include televoting and participating in competitions.
Services charged when receiving an SMS (MT)
The subscriber is charged after registering to a service using a subscription charging model e.g. being charged every time an SMS is received or for a fixed amount per week or month.
To activate such services the subscriber needs to register their phone number online at the service’s website. With the registration, an informative SMS will be sent to him/her containing a PIN code that needs to be inserted on the website to verify the subscription. After submitting the PIN code and ticking the T&Cs acceptance box the subscription is confirmed. The subscriber will then receive an SMS asking to confirm the subscriber’s request for enrolling in the specific service. Upon confirming, the subscriber will receive an informative SMS containing the successful subscription confirmation and relevant information like the charging model of the subscription and how to unsubscribe.
Most SMS services are provided by Third Parties who are solely responsible for their cost, content and way of advertising and subscribing. To unsubscribe from an SMS service the subscriber needs to follow the instructions provided in the informative SMS sent by the Service provider when successfully registering to the service.
Premium SMS are charged out of bundle.

Roaming in EU and EEA countries
All GoMo subscribers who travel in European Union (EU) and European Economic Area (EEA) countries, enjoy their communication without any concerns for roaming charges, when using their mobile phone. According to the European Regulation “Roam Like At Home”, all roaming charges cease to apply and the travellers are able to use their mobile lines exactly the way they do while in Cyprus, without any additional charges.
“Roam Like At Home” applies in all 27 EU and EEA countries: Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, France, Germany, Denmark, Greece, Estonia, United Kingdom, Ireland, Spain, Italy, Netherlands, Croatia, Cyprus, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Hungary, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Slovenia, Sweden, Finland, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway and Monaco. As of 01/01/2026 Roam Like At Home applies also for Moldova and Ukraine.
According to the European Regulation “Roam Like At Home”, the Fair Use Policy is implemented as follows:
- GoMo will be monitoring the presence of the subscriber abroad as well as the subscriber’s roaming consumption and if his presence and consumption for a continuous period of 4 months is greater than in Cyprus, then GoMo will give the subscriber a 15-days notice. If during the 15-days period the usage continues to be higher during roaming, then GoMo will charge an extra charge for roaming consumption as follows:
- €0.02618 per minute
- €0.00476 per SMS
- €0.0018 per MB of data
- A fair usage policy applies, as per “Roam like at home” Regulation , with a limit of 14GB, on the volume of data you can consume for free while on roaming within the EU. After the consumption of the limit an additional charge of €0.0018 per MB of data will apply.

GoMo subscribers can use their line to access the internet during their trips abroad. Following the EU Data roaming regulation, a monthly usage threshold is set to the subscriber’s line for safety purposes. The monthly data roaming threshold is activated on all GoMo subscribers’ lines at €50 + VAT, which corresponds to 33 GB for roaming at EU countries and 6 MB for roaming at non EU countries.
